Will You Really Bugout?
Get Real About Where You Live, Should Be & Building Community
This show Will built on the premise which he has expounded upon many times, recently spurred by a YouTube video by Pastor Joe Fox on Viking Preparedness YouTube channel. He was talking about bugging out, triggers and the falsity of most "prepper's" bugout plans.
As Will discussed many times with GL Skye and others your “home base” should be chosen in order to afford you the highest likelihood of you being able to survive in place. If your home base requires you to bugout at the occurrence of nearly any significant incident, then you need to relocate (move) now.
Pastor Fox asked the rhetorical question, “did you bug out on 911?”, if you live in the Mid-Atlantic area, and you did not pull the trigger, you likely never will. Will points out that 911 should be a case study. Study what happened: Bridges closed, check points set up, National Guard blocking roads, inspecting vehicles, city services interrupted. What can you learn as to how that would affect your “escape route” / bug out route? What if anything would actually cause you to pull the trigger? What would you tell your boss, how would you preserve your job? Then of course the normal questions; where would you go? Will they accept you? How will you get there? What if you had to walk?
There are so many questions. If you don’t begin to answer them now, it will be too late when it is necessary to move.
Finally, aside from developing information gathering skills and community it is critical that you are realistic about what you really intend to do. Practice is the only means to assure a reasonably reliable outcome in the event of a serious event. Today should be the beginning of your better preparedness and security.
